Silicone glycol copolymer soluable in water, alcohol and hydroalcoholic systems. INCI Name: PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone.

United States FDA Regulations
  • This product shall meet the requirements of the E.P.A. regulation "Code of Federal Regulations 40 CFR" concerning "Tolerances and Exemption from Tolerances for Pesticide Chemicals in or on Raw Agricultural Commodities" under Section 180.910: "Inert ingredients used pre- and post-harvest; exemptions from the requirement of a tolerance." (Prior to April 28th 2004 this was section 180.1001(c))
  • This product has been assessed and does not comply with any US FDA food contact regulations.
European Union Food Regulations
  • This product can be used in compliance with German BfR Recommendation XV on Silicone for food contact (BfR-Empfehlungen XV zu Silicone). Silicone resins and elastomers should be processed as recommended by Dow Corning.
  • This product can be used in compliance with German BfR Recommendation XXXVI on paper and board for food contact (BfR-Empfehlungen XXXVI zu Papiere, Kartons und Pappen für den Lebensmittelkontakt). This Recommendation is valid for paper or paperboard which are intended to be used at temperatures up to 90 °C (holding and reheating of food).
  • This product can NOT be used in compliance with Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, as last amended with Regulation (EU) No 1416/2016.
  • This product can be used in compliance with Framework Resolution ResAP (2004) 1 on Coatings intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (Adopted by the Committee of Ministers on 1st December 2004 at the 907th meeting of the Minister’s Deputies).
  • This product can NOT be used in compliance with Swiss Ordinance of the FDHA on Materials and Articles (RS 817.023.21) of 23 November 2005, Section 8b on Packaging Inks.
  • - This product contains substance(s) potentially influencing the volatile content in the finished product which should not exceed 0.5 %
  • - Coordination compounds of platinum should not exceed 50 mg/kg (Pt) in the finished material or article.
  • > The following Restrictions and/or Specifications are applicable and should be taken into consideration by customers as part of their compliance assessment:
  • Dow Corning product ranges do not constitute “Materials or Articles” as they should be understood under the terms of Regulation (EC) No 2023/2006. Instead they are considered “Starting Materials”. However this product is produced according to our quality management systems, and certified under ISO 9001 Standard.   • Compliance with the general requirements laid down in Framework Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 of 27 October 2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, remains the responsibility of both the manufacturer of finished food contact mate rials or articles as well as the industrial food packer.
