Structure And Composition

Silanes that have at least one carbon-silicon bond are called organofunctional silanes or “organosilanes.” The basic organosilane structure is:

RnSi(OR)4-n

  • With R being an alkyl, aryl or organofunctional group, and
  • OR being a methoxy, ethoxy or acetoxy group
